Job summary

EECS (Energy Efficiency & Consulting Services, LLC) seeks Energy Consultants or Resource Efficiency Managers (REM) with a CEM credential to join our expanding team. Relocation to Germany, Japan, or Salt Lake City, USA is required; relocation expenses will be paid.

The REM will support energy audits, plan development, and project implementations across military bases and civilian facilities, leveraging data to cut energy use and cost.

Energy Consultants or Resource Efficiency Managers (REM) with CEM

These positions require relocation to GERMANY, JAPAN, or Salt Lake City, UTAH, USA. Relocation expenses will be paid.

Locations

• At United States Military Bases in Germany
• At United States Military Bases in Japan
• At the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah

The REM assists the Departments of War and of Veterians Affairs in reducing energy consumption and initiating and evaluating energy projects. The type of equipment that might be analyzed would include chilled water systems, HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, air handlers, solar, wind turbines, geothermal, cogeneration, and various energy distribution systems.

Scope of Work

• Project management and assist with development of statements of work
• Develop Energy Plan and Implementation Strategy
• Use spreadsheets, Advanced Meter Data, utility billing databases, and expertise to identify and help to correct anomalies in facility energy use
• Develop an effective network of Facility Managers and Building Energy Monitors.
• Optimize facility operations to minimize utility costs: The REM shall identify the facilities with the greatest potential for energy cost savings.
• Develop and sustain an effective energy awareness, incentive, and suggestion Program
• Support utility demand reduction to maximize cost avoidance
• Conduct energy audits
• Provide renewable energy support
• Identify potential energy projects, programs, and initiatives
• Support the implementation of energy projects
• Recommend Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Improvements
• Assist in developing projects such as microgrids
• Complete design reviews

The successful candidate for this position should possess the ability to develop and assist with the implementation of actions/projects in support of facility maintenance, repair, and construction activities including providing design review comments; project management support; identification of energy savings projects, construction coordination and oversight; and other support activities to ensure that energy efficiency measures and water conservation measures are incorporated into all actions.

Basic Requirements

• Position requires relocation. Relocation expenses will be provided.
• Be able to communicate both in verbal and written English and the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel spreadsheets, and other basic computer programs.
• Must be able to pass a security clearance.
• United States citizen
• Must possess one of the following certifications: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or professional engineering certification (PE).
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in the energy conservation field.

Preferred Requirements

• A four-year technical/engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or a registered Professional Engineer registration with a minimum of 8 years of experience in energy management.
• A science, business or related degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience in energy management.
• A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
• A non-degreed REM with a minimum of 14 years of experience in energy management.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA).
• Military experience is desirable but not required.

Salary range $90,000 to $120,000 depending upon qualifications and certifications.
