Energy Efficiency & Consulting Services, LLC (EECS) is seeking an experienced Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) to be placed at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Relocation will be paid and this is not a remote position.

The REM will lead energy management efforts across facilities, develop energy plans, perform energy audits, and identify projects for energy savings. Requires strong communication, project management, and experience in energy conservation.

Job Description Energy EngineersRelocation Opportunity: We are actively seeking experienced energy professionals in the Los Angeles, CA metro area willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, UT. Energy Efficiency & Consulting Services, LLC will pay relocation expenses.Energy Efficiency & Consulting Services, LLC (EECS) is a well-established energy consulting firm with over 25 years of experience supplying services with placements throughout the world (https://www.eecsllc.com/). We are a progressive company where employees have direct contact with senior management.EECS is interviewing for energy engineers to be placed as a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. This is NOT a remote job.The energy engineer in the role of a REM assists departments of the US Government in reducing energy consumption and initiating and evaluating energy projects. The type of equipment that might be analyzed would include chilled water systems, HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, air handlers, solar, wind turbines, geothermal, cogeneration, and various energy distribution systems.NOTE: There are also positions available at military bases in Japan and Germany.

Scope of Work
  • Project management and assist with development of statements of work
  • Develop Energy Plan and Implementation Strategy
  • Use spreadsheets, Advanced Meter Data, utility billing databases, and expertise to identify and help to correct anomalies in facility energy use
  • Develop an effective network of Facility Managers and Building Energy Monitors.
  • Optimize facility operations to minimize utility costs: The REM shall identify the facilities with the greatest potential for energy cost savings.
  • Develop and sustain an effective energy awareness, incentive, and suggestion Program
  • Support utility demand reduction to maximize cost avoidance
  • Conduct energy audits
  • Provide renewable energy support
  • Identify potential energy projects, programs, and initiatives
  • Support the implementation of energy projects
  • Recommend Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Improvements
  • Assist in developing projects such as microgrids
  • Complete design reviews
Requirements

The successful candidate for this position should possess the ability to develop and assist with the implementation of actions/projects in support of facility maintenance, repair, and construction activities including providing design review comments; project management support; identification of energy savings projects, construction coordination and oversight; and other support activities to ensure that energy efficiency measures and water conservation measures are incorporated into all actions.

  • 1. Position requires relocation. Relocation expenses will be provided.
  • 2. Be able to communicate both in verbal and written English and the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel spreadsheets, and other basic computer programs.
  • 3. Must be able to pass a security clearance.
  • 4. United States citizen.
  • 5. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the energy conservation field.
Preferred Requirements
  • A four-year technical/engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or a registered Professional Engineer registration with a minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management.
  • A science, business or related degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in energy management.
  • A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management.
  • A non-degreed REM with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA).
  • Military experience is desirable but not required.

Salary range $90,000 to $120,000 depending upon qualifications and certifications.
