Job summary

General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) in Washington, DC, announces a search for an Resource Development, Associate Specialist to coordinate curriculum development and training programs for annual conferences, local churches, and denominational entities.

The candidate will design and deliver online training materials, lead resource development initiatives, and collaborate with GCORR staff and denominational partners while remaining committed to equity and anti-racism work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in organizational leadership, adult learning or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in education and intercultural competency, anti-racism, community dialogue, and resource development.
• Deep knowledge of adult learning and education, program/resource design and development; demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications.
• Willingness to learn and understand United Methodist Polity.
• Knowledge of United Methodist Church theology and denominational structures are a plus.
• Experience working with diverse racial and ethnic leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development of educational and training resources: lead in the development of educational materials and courses (synchronous, asynchronous, webinars, small group, etc.).
• Program coordination & support: assist in the coordination of programs and the development of supporting resources, ensuring integration with GCORR initiatives.
• Project management of resource development: coordinate resources from outside writers and consultants, including managing contracts, timelines, and deliverables, while providing project management for development, delivery, and evaluation of resources.
• Collaboration & innovation: collaborate with the Program Team and General Secretary’s office to plan and implement resource development; lead innovation in resource design and accessibility for diverse audiences.
• Evaluation & continuous improvement: evaluate effectiveness of resources and training, gathering feedback and data to inform updates and future development.
• Intersections of identity and oppression while addressing racial injustice; stay current with field concepts around equity and anti-racism.
