Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a Resource Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual care to patients and families in emergent situations. The role includes on-call coverage several weeknights and weekend days, with opportunities to teach spirituality and bereavement support.
Required a Bachelor's in Theology with a current endorsement; a Master's degree is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with EPIC documentation are essential to support the department's mission.

Job Details: The Resource Chaplain primarily provides spiritual care to patients and families in emergent situations ( (e.g. traumas, new diagnosis, or end of life). There are also opportunities to making room visits and communicating with interdisciplinary teams to identify needs of patients and families. Additionally, the Resource Chaplain will have opportunities to learn all aspects of the department’s work, including teaching spirituality classes in the Behavioral Health Unit, bereavement care, and the hosting of events (e.g., Annual Memorial Service, Butterfly Release). The Resource Chaplain assures a continuum of quality spiritual care at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Bachelor's in Theology from an accredited program required. Master's preferred. Certification Documentation of current endorsement (or acceptable language in accordance with the applicant’s spiritual/faith tradition) received or reaffirmed within last 12 months required.
