Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a Resource Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients and families in emergent situations and to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
This part-time role offers opportunities for teaching spirituality, bereavement care, and involvement in department events within the Chaplain Services team.
The Resource Chaplain primarily provides spiritual care to patients and families in emergent situations ( (e.g. traumas, new diagnosis, or end of life). There are also opportunities to making room visits and communicating with interdisciplinary teams to identify needs of patients and families.

The Resource Chaplain primarily provides spiritual care to patients and families in emergent situations ( (e.g. traumas, new diagnosis, or end of life). There are also opportunities to making room visits and communicating with interdisciplinary teams to identify needs of patients and families. Additionally, the Resource Chaplain will have opportunities to learn all aspects of the department's work, including teaching spirituality classes in the Behavioral Health Unit, bereavement care, and the hosting of events (e.g., Annual Memorial Service, Butterfly Release). The Resource Chaplain assures a continuum of quality spiritual care at Dayton Children's Hospital.
Bachelor's in Theology from an accredited program required. Master's preferred.
Documentation of current endorsement (or acceptable language in accordance with the applicant's spiritual/faith tradition) received or reaffirmed within last 12 months required
Provision of spiritual care to patients and families.
