Resort Maintenance Technicians perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Suns resorts. They conduct building maintenance repairs and are responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment & various utility systems. Maintenance Technicians provide excellent customer service to prospective & current guests and residents at all times, and may assist with site setups to ensure timely arrivals and departures of resort guests and residents.
JOB DUTIES
- Empty trash, shovel, perform maintenance or repair duties, use power equipment, drills or other hand tools
- Complete minor repairs to rental units and facilities as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction & street repair
- Inspect irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly, and repair as necessary
- Inspect playground area and equipment, pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition, making minor repairs as needed
- Ensure the resort is presentable and inviting at all times, adhering to Sun's curb appeal standards
- Perform lawn care services such as treating for weeds, weed whips, raking leaves, planting flowers/shrubs, spreading mulch/woodchips/stones, trimming shrubs and hedges, and removing damaged tree limbs
- Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets, and empty trash containers as needed
- Clean resort amenities including clubhouses, tennis courts, pickleball courts, offices, restrooms, laundry areas, bath houses, and maintenance garage
- Maintain vacant sites, including strap-downs & trash removal
- Remove snow from streets, parking lots, building entrances, using trucks with plows, salt spreading, snow blowing, and shoveling, where applicable
- Inspect tied-down RVs, park models, and mobile homes for cleanliness, rust, damage, and other issues prior to sale
- Complete checklists of resort site conditions before and after guest occupancy
- Assist Resort Manager with supervising service contractors
- Report all maintenance issues and concerns identified during duties to the manager
- Ensure resort streets and access routes are hazard-free
- Maintain resort pools, testing chemical levels and adjusting as needed
- Maintain resort vehicles and equipment
- Follow safety procedures, including operating vehicles safely when moving between sites and picking up supplies
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- At least 6 months of maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort
- Broad knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in seasonal temperatures
- Knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenance
- Proficiency in operating hand tools, power equipment, and machinery
- Ability to produce clear written reports
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills, including email and internet use
- Availability for on-call responses during non-business hours
- Valid driver's license required
