Job summary

Sun Outdoors in Florida is seeking a Resort Housekeeper to maintain resort facilities, buildings and rental properties in a clean, sanitary condition.

Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, stocking supplies, and following safety procedures. A High School Diploma or GED and 6 months cleaning experience are preferred, along with a valid driver’s license. We offer competitive pay and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have prior cleaning experience in homes or large facilities (e.g., hotels, resorts).
• Familiar with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks areas with cleaning products.
• Cleans and sanitizes appliances and defrosts freezers as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, ensures proper lighting and safety mats.
• Follows safety procedures and reports hazards or defective equipment.
• Maintains appearance of resort buildings and facilities, ensuring cleanliness and order.
• Cleans floors, windows, vents, and maintains washers/dryers.
• Empties trash and ensures offices/buildings are neat.

Job description

Resort Housekeepers are responsible for regularly cleaning resort facilities, buildings and rental properties to ensure the resort remains presentable and sanitary at all times.

Job Duties

• Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks areas with products as needed. Ensures all tables and chairs are clean and functioning properly (Essential)
• Cleans and sanitizes appliances to ensure they are free of food particles, mold and mildew. Defrosts freezer as needed (Essential)
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, ensuring they are well lit, and places rubber mats down to ensure safety (Essential)
• Follows all established safety procedures and precautions. Reports all unsafe or hazardous conditions, incidents, accidents, and/or defective equipment to their manager (Essential)
• Ensures that the overall appearance of the resort, buildings and facilities are well maintained and orderly
• Ensures all floors are swept, vacuumed, mopped, waxed, and buffed as needed
• Ensures that all windows and screens are clean and functioning properly
• Maintains washers and dryers by wiping surfaces, removing lint, etc.
• Ensures all offices and buildings are clean and neat. Empties trash containers as needed
• Ensures all vents and filters are cleaned and changed as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 6 months in previous experience cleaning homes or other large facilities (Preferred)
• Demonstrated knowledge of general janitorial work
• Knowledge of safety measures when using various cleaning chemicals
• Abilities to lift at least 25 pounds
• Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
• Must have a valid driver's license
