Job summary

AkzoNobel is seeking a Polymer Scientist focused on resin development and production support at our Huron, OH facility. You will guide resin synthesis, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, and contribute to new resin development and technical transfers while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires a BS in polymer science or related field, with 3 years of polymer synthesis experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3 years polymer synthesis experience required; manufacturing environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage lab work requests related to synthesizing resin and perform root cause analysis for batches not meeting specs.
• Provide technical guidance on resin manufacturing for assigned products.
• Assist on projects for new resin development and transfer to manufacturing.
• Communicate project results to internal stakeholders with appropriate technical detail in reports and presentations.
• Support site Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and follow all safety regulations.
