Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern for our New York, NY office. You will support resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grants, planning, and infrastructure initiatives for public-sector clients.

The role involves research, data collection, document development, meeting coordination, and maintaining project systems. No professional experience is required; 60 credit hours completed is preferred, with strong MS Office and data skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree from an accredited college or university by the start of the internship.
• Preferred fields include Emergency Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Geography/GIS, Environmental Studies, Planning, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Communications, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools; ability to learn SharePoint and project systems.

Responsibilities

• Support resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grant, and planning projects through research, data collection, and documentation.
• Review and organize grant applications, reimbursement requests, plans, and project records per program requirements.
• Prepare correspondence, meeting summaries, presentations, maps, reports, and briefing materials for internal and client use.
• Maintain datasets, dashboards, SharePoint sites, databases, and other systems of record for project delivery.
• Conduct data analysis, visualization, GIS support, and reviews of guidance and policies.
