Job summary

Mount Prospect Academy is seeking Residential Youth Counselors for the Bennington, VT program. The role focuses on supervising youth in a therapeutic residential setting, providing structure and positive guidance.

You will help youth develop life skills, cope with emotions, and participate in educational and recreational activities. A 4-day workweek, competitive pay, and robust benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• Experience working with youth or related Human Services coursework.
• Must be 21+ and pass background checks.

Vermont Permanency Initiative (VPI) is hiring Residential Counselors for our Bennington, VT program to provide support and mentorship to youth in a therapeutic residential environment.

Front Half (Sun-Wed):

• Sunday: 9 AM - 11 PM
• Monday: 1 PM - 11 PM
• Tuesday: 3 PM - 11 PM

Back Half (Wed-Sat):

• Thursday: 1 PM - 11 PM
• Friday: 3 PM - 11 PM
• Saturday: 9 AM - 11 PM

What You’ll Do:

As a Residential Counselor, you’ll:

• Provide supervision, structure, and positive role modeling
• Support youth in building life skills, communication, and emotional regulation
• Assist with daily routines, behavioral support, and crisis intervention
• Engage youth in recreational, educational, and social activities

What You Need:

• HS diploma or GED (college preferred)
• Experience working with youth orrelevant Human Services coursework
• Must be 21+
• Driver’s license preferred
• CPR preferred
• Ability to pass background and pre-employment checks
