Job summary

Mount Prospect Academy in Bennington, VT is seeking an Overnight Residential Counselor to support youth and families in a safe, structured overnight setting. The role emphasizes vigilance, compassion, and building trust, with duties including nightly checks, safety, and documentation.

We offer flexible shifts (4 nights per week), with full-time and part-time employment and excellent benefits. Starting pay is $17 per hour with opportunities for experience-based increases and professional growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer 2+ years’ experience working with youth (camp counselor, coach, babysitting, etc.).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Follow nightly instructions from the building supervisor.
• Conduct regular room checks (every 10 minutes).
• Provide comfort and support to youth who are awake.
• Maintain building security.
• Complete shift documentation, light cleaning, laundry, and other duties.
• Respond to emergencies and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate promptly with the Night Awake Supervisor.
• Uphold confidentiality and company policies.

You’ll ensure the safety and well-being of youth during overnight hours. This awake position requires vigilance, compassion, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
