Job summary

Cocoon House in Everett, WA, seeks a Youth Housing Support Staff (Day Shift) to provide a safe, supportive environment for teens in a residential setting. The position, titled Residential Youth Counselor internally, focuses on life and social skills, enrichment activities, and strong boundary-setting with youth.

The ideal candidate has a passion for youth work, knowledge of youth development principles, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months experience working with youth.
• DCYF background clearance required.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff.
• Maintain healthy, safe boundaries with youth.
• Accept diverse lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural/spiritual practices.
• Assess emergencies and provide proper support.
• De-escalate crises using trauma-informed care and inclusive practices.
• Transport youth to appointments as needed.
