Job summary

NJAC seeks Residential Assistants to provide 24-hour coverage in a supportive housing program for men living with HIV/AIDS. You will assist with daily living, coordinate health-related programming, and promote wellness, independence, and dignity.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, responding to emergencies, and maintaining confidential, respectful care for residents across rotating shifts. A strong crisis-intervention and communication skill set is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in residential or supportive housing settings strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS-related issues and trauma-informed care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and security of residents and facility.
• Conduct regular house checks and document observations.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with medical or crisis services as needed.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and transportation coordination.
• Maintain shift logs and incident reports; ensure accuracy.
• Address negative client behavior and report to supervisors.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
