Job summary

NJAC is seeking a Residential Assistant to provide 24-hour staffing in a supportive housing program for men living with HIV/AIDS. You will participate in crisis intervention, emotional support, daily living assistance, and health-related programming to promote wellness and independence.

Responsibilities include safety monitoring, screenings, documentation, and coordination with case management and medical services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in residential or supportive housing settings strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS-related issues and trauma-informed care is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility to ensure safety and security of all residents.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with medical or crisis services as needed.
• Support residents in managing health-related needs and facilitating HIV/AIDS education and wellness activities.
• Conduct telephone and in-person screenings and provide orientation to new residents.
• Maintain security, logs, and incident reports; assist with daily living tasks and transportation coordination.
