Responsibilities

• Picks up solid waste and loads it into a rear-load garbage truck on assigned routes.
• Manually handles and pushes toter, bags, bulk items, and containers for disposal.
• Climbs onto/off of the truck rear step to load refuse and carts.
• Operates the packing mechanism to compact waste inside the truck.
• Assists driver and directs backing from the ground to enhance safety.
• Cleans hopper and behind the compactor blade; cleans area after shifts.
