Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. is seeking a Helper to assist the refuse truck driver on pre-assigned and special routes, helping to collect garbage, yard waste, and recycling from residential and commercial customers.

The role requires safety awareness, courteous customer service, and physical capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; duties include loading, backing the truck, and performing end-of-shift cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Follow safe operating practices and company safety policies.

• Read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments.

Responsibilities

• Picks up solid waste and loads onto rear-load garbage truck on specified routes.
• Provides courteous customer service and supports municipal goals.
• Ensures garbage and recyclables are picked up and transferred properly; may use back door.
• Answers questions for residents and directs them to Customer Service or appropriate government office for additional information.
• Follows ANSI, OSHA, and company safety policies including Waste Pro Absolute Guidelines.
• Assists Driver in backing up the truck from the ground.
• Cleans behind the compactor blade and cleans the hopper and truck at the end of each shift.
• Reports safety or customer service issues immediately.
• Performs manual cleanup of scattered refuse and replaces containers as needed.
• May work during emergency situations.
• Assists other routes as needed to complete daily work.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
