Job summary

City of Indianapolis is seeking a Refuse Collection Driver to operate several types of refuse collection equipment and to support daily collection routes. This role requires a valid Class B CDL, the ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, and the stamina to lift 25 pounds or more.

Work involves exposure to all weather conditions, adherence to safety regulations, and direct coordination with team members to ensure timely pickup of residential waste.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Directs the collection of solid waste materials.
• Performs daily vehicle inspection prior to shift.
• Provides assistance in directing the work of assigned personnel.
• Follows safety regulations and DOT guidelines.
• Works assigned schedule.
