Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Helper to ride with the Driver on residential routes, assist with loading waste, and help direct the vehicle from the ground. The role emphasizes safe, efficient service, courteous customer interactions, and daily vehicle pre/post checks.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
• Operate packing mechanism and levers to activate loading.
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each trip; spray and clean hopper and truck.
• Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers to ensure on-time service.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Follow safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.
