Job summary

Pathway Family Services in Topeka, Kansas, is seeking a Residential Unit Leader for a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program. In this full-time role, you will supervise daily schedules, oversee treatment plans, and ensure care standards are met with excellence.

You’ll coordinate group activities, monitor resource needs, support staff during emergencies, and collaborate with medical, therapeutic, and educational teams to provide holistic care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in human services preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential program; medical care center experience a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age; valid driver’s license and agency driving standards.
  • Completion of Safe Crisis Management training (or willingness to complete upon hire).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct group activities to ensure compliance with treatment schedules.
  • Monitor and report supply and curriculum needs for psychosocial programming.
  • Ensure staff are equipped with materials for therapeutic groups and activities.
  • Collaborate with medical, therapeutic, and educational departments for holistic care.
  • Document staff interactions, incidents, and resident progress.
  • Support direct care staff during emergencies or crises.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and coaching.
  • Transport residents or conduct agency business using personal or agency vehicles.
  • Promote cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and adherence to accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
