Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a part-time on-site Residential Counselor to support adults 18+ with serious mental illness in an RTC setting. You will work one-on-one with clients to develop independent living skills and provide a safe, therapeutic environment.

You will ensure medication safety, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and assist with transportation and attending medical appointments. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred, and a valid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as needed.
• Active driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to insured vehicle.
• Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as a residential counselor, working one-on-one with clients to support skills for independent living and socialization.
• Ensure medication safety and compliance, including dosage and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual plans.
• Provide transportation to and attend clients’ medical appointments, offering advocacy throughout the visit.
