Job summary

Hope Hill Youth Services seeks a Residential Therapist to provide therapy and clinical support to foster youth with mental health and substance-related needs in Kentucky. You will assess, treat, and coordinate with the care team to implement Individual Treatment Plans.

The role includes crisis intervention, documentation, and collaboration with staff to ensure compliance with policies and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology with KY licensure to provide therapy.
• Experience in behavioral and mental health services.
• Licensed in Kentucky to provide therapy.
• Strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy for foster youth and families on caseload.
• Conduct clinical assessments using CANS and VERA and report to Treatment Team.
• Review Psychological Evaluations to implement recommendations.
• Develop and modfy Individual Treatment Plans; maintain caseload.
• Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support for unstable situations.
• Attend clinical and department meetings; advocate for foster parents and children.

Job Description – Exempt – Full Time

Hope Hill Youth Services strengthens and equips families to be the answer for vulnerable children, both in local communities and throughout the state of Kentucky. As a Therapist for our TFC program, you will be primarily responsible for providing therapy and clinical support to foster youth with a wide range of issues including mental health and substance disorders.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform appropriate individual therapy and group therapy for children and foster families in on assigned caseload and write thorough, accurate therapy notes addressing short-term and long-term therapy goals in coordination with Individual Treatment Plans.
• Provide thorough and accurate clinical assessment of status along with the CANS and VERA assessment of children on caseload to the Treatment Team.
• Review Psychological Evaluations of children on caseload to monitor implementation of recommendations.
• Provide staff development workshops and foster parent training on areas of expertise as needed or as directed.
• Consult with clinical and case management staff on individual cases not on caseload as requested.
• Provide therapeutic support for children and families experiencing crisis and unstable situations.
• Assist in the development of Individual Treatment Plan for moderate and specialized leveled children on assigned caseload.
• Assist in the development of Safety and Supervision Plans for children as needed.
• Maintain caseload at level assigned by the Treatment Director.
• Serve in the crisis on call rotation for after hours and weekend coverage as well as backup daily coverage as needed.
• Complete and report documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Open and process mail / e-mail daily in a timely manner.
• Answer phone, collect messages and respond to requests accurately and in a timely manner.
• Input data into computer accurately in the EHR and in a timely manner.
• Attend all clinical meetings, staff and department meetings as scheduled.
• Advocate for foster parents and children with other agencies.
• Maintain compliance with all Hope Hill policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements including all state and federal laws.
• Maintain confidentiality as required by government law and regulations.
• Beaware of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
• Be available for on-call clinical emergencies, as needed;
• Maintain professional on-going training and licensure as required by state licensing authority and agency requirements.
• Complete other duties as assigned

CREDENTIALS:

A person employed as Foster Care Therapist shall possess the following qualifications:

• Possession of a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology and be Licensed by the state of Kentucky to provide therapy; and previous experience in behavioral and mental health.
