Job summary

OneQuest Health in Covington, KY is seeking a Residential Therapist to develop and monitor treatment for children and families. The role spans both Residential and Outpatient programs with responsibilities including trauma-informed individual/family therapy, case coordination and active family engagement.

Qualified candidates hold an MSW (KY license required; LCSW preferred) and at least two years in behavioral health or education. Travel and driving are required, with a signing bonus of $5,000.

  • Must have a Kentucky license. LCSW preferred.
  • Two years experience in behavioral health or the educational field.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing individual and family therapy utilizing evidence based treatment models.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as an effective member of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and insurance.
  • Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Children’s Home clients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, direct and monitor treatment for all clients and their families within caseload.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans and coordinate services using trauma informed approaches.
  • Provide individual/family therapy and facilitate therapeutic groups; engage families and support permanency plans.
  • Maintain current records per agency policies and state regulations.
  • Communicate with families, referral agents and schools regarding treatment.
  • Residential: co-chair team meetings, admissions, staffings and training; provide clinical updates.
  • Residential: report medical observations to Medication Coordinator; participate in psychiatric/psychological consults.
  • Residential: participate in admissions and collaborate with Case Managers and referral sources.
  • Develop discharge and transition plans; attend case consultations and manage cross-program coverage.
  • Obtain and maintain training in agency evidence-based practices and treatment modalities.

Residential Therapist - OneQuest Health

$5,000 signing bonus available.

Schedule Monday-Friday, hours may vary.

Minimum Position Qualifications

Essential Job Functions
  1. The Therapist has the primary responsibility to develop, direct and monitor treatment for all clients, and their families assigned to their caseload. The therapist can be assigned to either the Residential program or the Outpatient program with possible overlap in both departments.
  2. Develops and implements the individual treatment plan and coordinates service delivery to children and their families utilizing trauma informed approaches. This includes the completion of assessment, and networking with referral sources, parents and other community resources.
  3. Provides individual/family therapy at a minimum of 1 hr. per week, per individual and based on current needs and treatment plans of each child. Facilitate therapeutic groups. Engage family in services and provide parent education information and work to support referral agent's permanency plan and/or stability plan.
  4. Maintains current records on each child in accordance with agency policies and state regulations.
  5. Communicate and collaborate with families, referral agents, and other interested parties, (i.e., judges, schools, DCBS, DJJ, and other referral agents) regarding children’s treatment.
  6. Residential - Co-chairs team meetings, admission conferences, staffings, in-service training and other meetings as required. Provides current clinical updates regarding children and families on their caseload and documents weekly and quarterly treatment meetings.
  7. Residential - Reports observations regarding client medical issues to agency’s Medication Coordinator.
  8. Residential - Participates in psychiatric and psychological consults regarding residents assigned to caseloads.
  9. Residential - Participates in admission process by reviewing referral packet and interviewing the resident and his family.
  10. Residential - Collaborates with Case Managers to ensure resident’s needs are addressed.
  11. Residential - Collaborates with referral source for transition and permanency planning.
  12. Develop discharge and transition plan for assigned caseloads.
  13. Attend case consultation and clinical meetings.
  14. Assists with case coverage across programs as needed.
  15. Obtain and maintain training in agency evidence-based practices and treatment modalities which may include: Nurturing Parenting, Trauma Focused CBT, Impact Plus provider certification, JSOCCP certification, Seeking Safety, Seven Challenges and Trauma Informed Care.
Working Conditions
  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, squat, and hold objects or carry.
  2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and sometimes move and/or lift up to 100 pounds in order to utilize Safe Crisis Management techniques.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  5. The environment consists of indoor and outdoor activities with different temperatures.
  6. The stress level in this position is moderate to high.
