Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Three+ years' experience in healthcare recreation.
• CTRS certification or in process.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required; First aid may be required.
• AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Complete activity assessments through observation and interviews to tailor treatment plans.
• Plan and direct activities within the program to progress treatment goals.
• Lead activities including therapeutic leisure, education, and awareness.
• Instruct patients in activities like sports, dance, music or relaxation techniques.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities to improve well-being.
• Modify activities to suit different groups and needs.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, professional attitude and address complaints.
