Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore's Villa Maria School is seeking a Teaching Assistant-Residential to support emotionally challenged children in a Residential Treatment setting and school. The role involves supervising, assisting in classrooms, and providing individualized instruction across both the residence and school.

The position requires a High School diploma with relevant experience, physical ability for crisis intervention, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma with 2 years’ experience working children or vulnerable populations.
• Ability to walk and stand; physical ability to intervene and restrain children in crisis situations.
• Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) with valid license and 2+ years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson plans and provide 1:1 or small-group instruction.
• Substitute for absent teachers as needed.
• Supervise and role-model positive behavior for children.
• Escort children between residence and Villa Maria School for appointments.
• Provide crisis intervention and communicate progress with staff and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
