Favarh is seeking a dedicated Assistant Managerto support the daily operations of our residential site in Avon. This role assists the Residential Manager in supervising staff, coordinating services, and ensuring safe, respectful, and person-centered supports that promote independence and quality of life for participants.
The Assistant Manager may serve as the point of contact in the Manager’s absence and plays a key role in staff leadership, medication oversight, documentation, and implementation of individual and behavioral programs.
Supervision & Operations
Support daily residential operations and assist with staff supervision and scheduling
Provide on-the-floor orientation and training to residential staff
Ensure compliance with agency policies, DDS regulations, and program standards
Remain on duty until relief staff is secured when necessary
Participant Support & Program Coordination
Implement daily routines and individual support plans
Promote participant advocacy, independence, and human and civil rights
Provide individual counseling for minor adjustment issues and elevate concerns as needed
Assist with implementation of behavioral programs and restraint procedures per policy
Medication Administration & Health Oversight
Oversee accurate and timely medication administration in coordination with nursing staff
Maintain medication records and order medications as needed
Ensure compliance with medication administration regulations
Documentation & Communication
Complete daily communication, nursing, medication, and behavioral logs
Utilize Therap for all program documentation and ensure staff compliance and training
Report operational issues and recommend improvements to the Residential Manager
Attend required meetings, trainings, and agency events
Transportation & Community Engagement
Ensure transportation needs are met in accordance with policies and procedures
Promote positive public relations and participate in agency fundraising and special events
Two (2) years of college in Human Services, Special Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum two (2) years of experience in residential, health, education, rehabilitation, or human services preferred
Valid Connecticut Driver’s License (or Rideshare-approved state license); must be insurable
Ability to obtain Medication Administration Certification and PMT within 6 months of hire
Completion of required Residential Trainings within designated timeframes
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ability to implement restraint procedures and administer CPR safely
Stand/walk 4–6 hours; sit/drive 1–3 hours
Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reaching
Repetitive grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, and foot control operation
Vision requirements include close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment
