Job summary

Favarh is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Avon, Canton, and Simsbury. The role offers flexible schedules (full-time or part-time) with opportunities to implement personalized activities and foster community engagement.

You will work in home and community settings, guiding daily living activities, promoting independence, and helping participants thrive across home, work, and community environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• One year of experience in Human Services (preferred).
• Active, clean Connecticut Driver’s License (minimum 3 years U.S. possession).
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized, engaging activities tailored to each participant.
• Support participants in reaching their personal goals and maximizing independence.
• Provide guidance and encouragement in home and community settings.
• Foster community inclusion and involvement.
• Support individuals in daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation, recreation and personal hygiene.

• Implement individualized, engaging activities tailored to each participant

• Utilize your own talents, skills, hobbies, and interests—such as art, music, cooking, sports, or other personal passions to enrich the lives of participants
• Must be at least 21 years old
• High School Diploma/GED
• One year of experience in Human Services (preferred)
• Active, clean, non-restricted Connecticut Driver’s License (minimum 3 years U.S. possession)
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to safely lift at least 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for periods at a time.
