Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to provide compassionate, person-centered care in a supportive home environment. You will develop individualized care plans, assist with daily living tasks, and collaborate with a care team to promote residents’ independence and well-being.

Responsibilities include organizing community activities, supporting emotional needs, and maintaining a safe, respectful living space.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an agency vehicle.
• Reliable transportation for local travel.
• Ability to pass Act 33/34/73 clearances.
• Pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and TB test.
• Completion of Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Personalized Support: Develop and implement individualized care plans that reflect each resident’s needs, goals, and preferences.
• Daily Living Assistance: Help residents with daily tasks such as hygiene, meals, medication administration, and household responsibilities.
• Behavioral Support: Collaborate with the care team to implement positive behavioral strategies.
• Community Engagement: Organize and participate in recreational outings, social events, and community activities.
• Team Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals and staff to ensure a holistic care approach.
