Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live more independent lives. You will provide individualized care, support daily living activities, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote safety, dignity, and well-being.

This non-exempt, full-time role offers benefits from day one, regular evening/weekend shifts, and opportunities to partner with families and community programs to encourage

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to operate an organization vehicle.
• Access to transportation for local travel as needed.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances required.
• Pre-employment drug screen, physical and TB testing required.
• Must complete Department of Public Welfare medication training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care and implement care plans tailored to residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meals, hygiene, medication administration.
• Implement behavioral support plans with positive reinforcement and teamwork.
• Facilitate community engagement, recreational activities, and social events.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and document residents' progress.
