Job summary

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut is seeking a dedicated Residential Specialist to support program participants in a residential setting, including Wahlstrom Residence. The role involves supervision, personal care, safety monitoring, and coordinating transportation.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma, a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification (provided within 30 days), and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Training is required within 30 days and annually.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and experience with persons with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle.
• First Aid & CPR certification (training offered within 30 days).
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Stand for long periods and pursue individuals who leave premises.
• Complete trainings within 30 days of hire and annually per CARF and policies.
• Overnight shifts are awake.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual service or behavioral plans to increase independence.
• Provide daily activity briefing to supervisor.
• Complete notes and data for services at end of each shift.
• Transport participants to outings or appointments using Goodwill vans.
• Maintain line-of-sight and safety monitoring in residential settings.
• Perform personal care assistance as required.
• All overnight shifts are awake.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
