Job summary

Vinfen in Massachusetts seeks a dedicated direct-support professional to assist individuals in residential settings. You will promote independence, community participation, and self-advocacy while ensuring safety, clean environments, and compliant documentation.

Responsibilities include developing social activities, coordinating access to community resources, administering medications per MAP, and collaborating with nurses and case managers to support a good life for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience using advocacy techniques to empower individuals.
• Strong communication skills with diverse populations.
• Ability to promote self-advocacy and family partnerships.
• Knowledge of PBS or behavioral supports is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to become integrated into their communities and friendships.
• Plan recreational activities promoting social inclusion and well-being.
• Support decision-making and self-advocacy in daily life and supports.
• Facilitate access to community resources and transportation as needed.
• Maintain records, logs, and progress notes for individuals.
• Provide training and support in activities of daily living and safety.
• Ensure home safety, cleanliness, and compliance with policies.
• Administer medications per MAP requirements and policy.
• Collaborate with program nurse, case managers, and Visiting Nurses Association.
