Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a compassionate resident services assistant to support program participants in a safe, non-judgmental environment. You will assess needs, coordinate meals and daily routines, and maintain safety and documentation.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, crisis response, housekeeping, and clear communication with residents. CPR/First Aid within 90 days is required; irregular hours and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions.
• General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities
• Flexibility to work irregular hours
• Willingness to function as a team member
• Computer skills required
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment
• Completion and maintenance of all required training and health clearances

Responsibilities

• Assuring quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all program participants
• Supportive interaction with program participants and team members
• Assessment of participant’s needs
• Supporting the safety and the integrity of all residents
• Performance of all work duties as required
• Explain program rules and regulations to residents and facilitate residents’ observance of the rules
• Coordinate meal preparation/service, bed/sleeping assignments, showers, laundering, and other daily routines
• Provide “awake” shift coverage
• Conduct hourly safety and security checks during designated periods
• De-escalate crisis before it develops and respond to crisis in an appropriate manner
• Maintain daily reports to provide statistical information
• Perform housekeeping and other maintenance tasks as needed
• Respond to all client questions
• Perform clerical duties on shift
• Maintain clear, thorough, routine communication with all residents
