Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota is seeking a Residential Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in a housing setting for children and youth in South Dakota. The role focuses on delivering high-quality client care within a collaborative team, ensuring safety, and supporting staff through supervision, training, and performance evaluations.

The position emphasizes active engagement with clients, autonomous professional practice, and participation in ongoing program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social science preferred; or two years of postsecondary education and one year of experience working with children.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Safe Crisis Management training is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, evaluation, and support to residential staff.
• Ensure physical intervention for residents and staff protection if necessary.
• Transport residents as needed and maintain health and safety standards.
• Attend in-service trainings, staff meetings, and supervisor meetings.
• Cover on-call duties as assigned.
