Job summary

Racine County seeks a SUD Technician to work with substance use disorder and mental health professionals in a 24/7 residential treatment facility. You will provide day-to-day care, ensure a safe, clean environment, and support residents while following program policies.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, documentation in the electronic health record, transportation of residents to off-site services, and adherence to safety and curfew protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 1 year of related experience or an associate degree in Human Services or related area.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.
• Ability to supervise and communicate with developmentally disabled, mentally ill consumers, or those with alcohol or drug dependency.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous care to SUD residential consumers to enhance their health, safety, and welfare.
• Maintain residents’ dignity and exercise courtesy when assisting residents.
• Assess for suicide risk and crisis intervention when appropriate.
• Work independently and with others to accomplish objectives.
• Respond to crises, emergencies, or trauma at the facility.
• Monitor and track residents and visitors of the facility.
• Observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes.
