Job summary

Racine County’s SUD Residential Program seeks a Technician to provide day-to-day care for residents in a 24/7 residential facility, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and adherence to program rules.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience or an associate degree in Human Services; duties include monitoring residents, documenting in the electronic health record, transporting residents, and responding to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one year of related experience or an associate degree in Human Services or related area.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.
• Ability to supervise and communicate with residents with varying needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous care to residents to enhance health, safety, and welfare.
• Maintain resident dignity and courtesy in interactions.
• Assess for suicide risk and crisis intervention when appropriate.
• Work independently and with others to accomplish objectives.
• Respond promptly to crises, emergencies, or trauma at the facility.
• Monitor and track residents and visitors.
• Observe residents' physical, mental, and emotional condition and report changes.
• Inspect resident rooms for tidiness and contraband.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Inspect facility for fire and safety code compliance and conduct drills.
• Document all activities in the electronic health record to ensure compliance.
• Transport residents to and from off-site services/activities.
• Regulate curfew hours and conduct bed checks.
• Provide residents with monitored access to medications per policy.
• Supervise residents during extra-curricular activities.
• Attend all staff meetings as required.
• Adhere to agency policies and seek supervision when unclear.
• All other duties as assigned, including responding to emergencies.
