Job summary

Zepf Center in Toledo, OH seeks a Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) to provide community support and coordinate services for people experiencing mental illness, ensuring their needs are addressed. The BHT works under licensed counselors to engage individuals, facilitate groups, manage cases, and support recovery in an inpatient setting.

This role involves shifting three 12-hour days (7:00am–7:00pm) with rotating weekends, and requires strong communication, documentation, and crisis-response skills to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have CDCA certification.
• Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree.
• Preferred: experience in behavioral health.
• Preferred: knowledge of substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in adjusting to the treatment environment, ensuring a safe and therapeutic living environment.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to individuals going through the recovery process.
• Help clients with daily living activities, such as hygiene and self-administration of medication, and routine development.
• Facilitation and co-facilitation of group therapy sessions and case management while maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Observe and document client behaviors and reactions during sessions and share observations with the team.
• Complete required paperwork, such as assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans, in a timely and organized manner.
• Respond to crisis situations utilizing CPI, CPR, First Aid, and assist clients in emotional distress.
• Educate clients on recovery principles, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
• Provide information on available resources within the facility and community to support ongoing recovery.
