Job summary

MHA Inc. in Springfield, MA, is seeking a Clinician to provide direct services to residents with substance use and/or mental health disorders, using ASAM criteria for screenings, assessments, and treatment planning.

The Clinician will facilitate a structured therapeutic milieu, support daily recovery activities, and coordinate care with families and community providers within the GRIT program. Open shifts and salary range are listed; bachelor’s degree is required with licensure preferred;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensure (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or LADC1) strongly preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Must be able to pass and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to support a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings, intakes, assessments, and treatment planning using ASAM criteria.
• Provide individual and group counseling to support recovery goals.
• Facilitate daily therapeutic programming and community meetings within the residential setting.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
• Coordinate care with community providers, families, and support systems to ensure integrated services.
• Respond appropriately to client crises and participate in critical incident review processes.
• Support and maintain a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented residential environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
• Assist residents in developing aftercare, relapse prevention, and discharge planning goals.
• Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, training, and adhere to all licensing, agency, and confidentiality standards.
