Job summary

CarePoint Response is seeking a Residential Specialist at Main Campus, Baltimore, MD 21229, to support individuals in a residential treatment environment. You will help maintain a recovery-focused setting and encourage participation in therapeutic activities, contributing to Baltimore’s behavioral health initiatives.

This part-time role includes 7:00AM-3:00PM and 3:00PM-11:00PM shifts, weekends, and responsibilities spanning safety, daily living support, and care coordination within a nonprofit

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Human Services or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in group supervision and review evaluations, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Monitor health and safety at scheduled intervals across common areas and rooms.
  • Model pro-social behavior and encourage participation in therapy activities.
  • Maintain a clean, healthy environment following health protocols; sanitation duties.
  • Use company vehicles to transport individuals as approved.
  • Assist with meals and dietary restrictions per medical orders.
  • Support activities of daily living and liaise with care partners and visitors.
  • Follow policies and uphold behavioral competencies; complete assigned tasks by HR and supervisor.

The Opportunity

CarePoint Response is seeking a Residential Specialist to support individuals in a residential treatment setting. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment, encourage participation in therapeutic activities, and monitor progress toward treatment goals. This is a hands‑on opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting Baltimore’s mission of advancing behavioral health and crisis recovery.

What You’ll Do
  • Supports the delivery of care and engagement of individuals under care by participating in group supervision and by reviewing evaluations, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. to understand the unique needs, strengths, preferences, and goals.
  • Monitors and documents the health and safety of individuals in care at scheduled intervals, including common rooms, restrooms, bedrooms, cafeterias, therapy/case management offices, and outdoor areas.
  • Models pro‑social interactions and encourages participation in therapeutic activities in individual and group settings.
  • Following universal precautions and health protocols, maintains a clean and healthy environment of care through sanitation activities, including but not limited to: trash removal, wiping frequently touched surfaces and work areas, laundry, cleaning of dishes/utensils, and occasional spills or messes.
  • As approved and assigned, uses company vehicles to provide transportation for individuals entering, receiving, or discharged from care.
  • Warms and serves meals and food items following health and safety protocols, following documented medical orders for specialty diets and restrictions by the medical practitioner.
  • Monitors and assists with activities of daily living.
  • Serves as a liaison as assigned and appropriate for internal and external stakeholders, care partners, and visitors.
  • Demonstrates adherence to company policies, expectations, and behavioral competencies, both explicit and implicit.
  • All tasks, projects, and/or duties as assigned and authorized, as determined by Human Resources and Direct Supervisor (or designated delegate) to be congruent with the role.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent, Required
  • Associate degree in Human Services or related field, Preferred
Additional
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, required
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds at times.
