Job summary

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Residential Specialist to support individuals in a residential treatment setting and help maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment.

You will guide clients through assessment, counseling, and care planning with compassion and clinical expertise. This full-time position offers 7:00AM-3:00PM or 3:00PM-11:00PM shifts from Monday to Friday, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement plan, generous PTO, and tuition

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent, Required
  • Associate degree in Human Services or related field, Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports the delivery of care by reviewing evaluations, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to understand needs and goals.
  • Monitors health and safety at scheduled intervals across common rooms, restrooms, bedrooms, cafeterias and clinical areas.
  • Models pro-social interactions and encourages participation in therapeutic activities in individual and group settings.
  • Maintains a clean environment through sanitation activities and routine tasks according to health protocols.
  • Uses company vehicles to provide transportation for individuals entering, receiving, or discharged from care as approved.
  • Warms and serves meals following health protocols and medical dietary orders.
  • Monitors and assists with activities of daily living.
  • Acts as liaison for internal/external stakeholders and visitors.
  • Demonstrates adherence to policies and behavioral competencies.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by HR or supervisor.

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

Since 1992, we’ve been at the forefront of behavioral health crisis care — providing timely, community-based services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

The Opportunity

CPR is seeking a Residential Specialist to support individuals in a residential treatment setting. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment, encourage participation in therapeutic activities, and monitor progress toward treatment goals. This is a hands‑on opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting Baltimore’s mission of advancing behavioral health and crisis recovery.

What You’ll Do
  • Supports the delivery of care and engagement of individuals under care by participating in group supervision and by reviewing evaluations, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. to understand the unique needs, strengths, preferences, and goals.
  • Monitors and documents the health and safety of individuals in care at scheduled intervals, including common rooms, restrooms, bedrooms, cafeterias, therapy/case management offices, and outdoor areas.
  • Models pro-social interactions and encourages participation in therapeutic activities in individual and group settings.
  • Following universal precautions and health protocols, maintains a clean and healthy environment of care through sanitation activities, including but not limited to: trash removal, wiping frequently touched surfaces and work areas, laundry, cleaning of dishes/utensils, and occasional spills or messes.
  • As approved and assigned, uses company vehicles to provide transportation for individuals entering, receiving, or discharged from care.
  • Warms and serves meals and food items following health and safety protocols, following documented medical orders for specialty diets and restrictions by the medical practitioner.
  • Monitors and assists with activities of daily living.
  • Serves as a liaison as assigned and appropriate for internal and external stakeholders, care partners, and visitors.
  • Demonstrates adherence to company policies, expectations, and behavioral competencies, both explicit and implicit.
  • All tasks, projects, and/or duties as assigned and authorized, as determined by Human Resources and Direct Supervisor (or designated delegate) to be congruent with the role.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent, Required
  • Associate degree in Human Services or related field, Preferred

  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, required

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds at times.
