Job summary

Trinity Solar is seeking a skilled Solar Service Technician to ensure residential solar systems deliver clean, reliable energy. You’ll troubleshoot and repair inverters, wiring, and safety systems while educating customers and optimizing performance.

This hands-on role requires 2+ years of PV or technical field experience, strong electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to read diagrams. A valid driver’s license is required for on-site, rooftop work with homeowners and the Trinity Solar team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PV installation, solar service, or technical field experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret 3-line diagrams, plan sets, and equipment specifications.
• Familiarity with NEC codes preferred.
• Proven ability to research, analyze, and resolve technical issues quickly and resourcefully.
• Excellent communication skills via phone, email, and in-person.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs and work safely on residential rooftops.
• Prior solar experience preferred, but candidates with strong technical skills from related trades are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform corrective maintenance on residential solar electric systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair communication systems for solar inverters (cell cards, hard lines, LAN connections).
• Adapt quickly to last-minute schedule changes to handle urgent service calls.
• Manage daily appointments efficiently to maximize productivity.
• Interact with homeowners and team members, providing professional, courteous, and knowledgeable support.
• Document all service work with photos, detailed notes, and system updates.
• Coordinate warranty claims, repairs, and replacements directly with inverter manufacturers.
• Maintain safety standards while working on rooftops and with electrical systems.
