Why does the job exist?

The Department of Health-Los Lunas Community Program (DOH-LLCP) provides services to New Mexicans with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) throughout Valencia County. LLCP offers a variety of services including Supported Living, Customized Community Supports, Community Integrated Employment, Nursing, and Crisis services. LLCP also provides services to New Mexicans with IDD and who require a structured behavior treatment program in an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) setting. The incumbent for this position will provide support services to the Residential Services Department by monitoring, overseeing, and training on supported living logs, CCS logs, and CIE logs related to the day-to-day activities as outlined by the DD Wavier Service Standards. Oversee and monitor special activities for the persons served and community members. Ensure compliance with all standards and requirements related to service billing.

This position provides customer service to all internal and external customers who support the Individuals Served at LLCP, this includes but is not limited to the following: all staff members, individuals served, team members.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience working with at-risk youth, counseling assistant, teaching assistant, military experience, or Correctional facility. Two (2) years of experience as a Cadre may substitute for three (3) years of experience. Graduation from Job ChalleNGe Academy may substitute for one (1) year of experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

Position will perform work primarily in an office setting with extensive computer usage, phone usage, and exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) with extended periods of sitting. This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and some travel may be required. Exposure to individual's who can have challenging behaviors.
