Job summary

The Jewish Board is seeking a Residence Manager to oversee IRA/ICF homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York. You will supervise DSPs, ensure program coverage, maintain schedules, and provide on-call support, in line with DOH, OPWDD, CARF and Jewish Board standards.

The role emphasizes person-centered care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and collaboration with families and the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years working with individuals with IDD.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in residential or human services settings.
• Familiarity with OPWDD and DOH regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of home/unit DSPs with formal supervision and evaluations.
• Conduct weekly DSP meetings and rotate meeting times for all shifts.
• Recruiting, hiring, performance management and termination per regulations.
• Provide ongoing training to direct support professionals.
• Coach, mentor and train staff toward service excellence.
• Maintain weekly schedule and ensure program coverage and overtime management.
• Site observations weekly and monthly, including overnight and weekend checks.
• Review MyAvatar/HER system documentation and ensure timely completion.
• Participate in staff coverage up to two days per week as needed.
• Escalate risks and challenges to program leadership promptly.
