CARJON Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. in Providence, RI is seeking an experienced Residential Service Tech - HVAC. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair residential heating and cooling systems while guiding homeowners through repair vs. replacement options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience
• Active Rhode Island Journeyman HVAC License PJ2/RJ2
• Universal EPA Certification
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability
• Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
• Ability to diagnose electrical, refrigeration and airflow issues
• Experience evaluating repair vs. replacement options
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Sheet metal knowledge and air-balancing understanding

Responsibilities

CARJON Air Conditioning & Heating is looking for an experienced Residential Service Tech - HVAC to join our growing service team.

Your Role

As a Residential Service Tech, you'll spend your day diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing residential heating and cooling systems while helping customers understand their options.

You'll be trusted to manage your service calls professionally while having the support of an experienced team behind you.

• Diagnose residential heating and cooling system problems
• Perform HVAC repairs, maintenance, and system evaluations
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and control issues
• Service a variety of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related equipment
• Clearly explain system conditions and recommended repairs to homeowners
• Help customers understand repair versus replacement options
• Complete service documentation accurately
• Communicate job status and service needs with the Service Manager
• Maintain your assigned company vehicle, tools, parts, and equipment
• Provide feedback regarding inventory, technical training, and field-service needs
• Participate in the company on-call rotation as scheduled

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced technician who can confidently handle residential service calls with limited supervision.

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience
• Active Rhode Island Journeyman HVAC License - PJ2 and/or RJ2
• Universal EPA Certification
• Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability
• Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
• Ability to diagnose electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues
• Experience evaluating repair versus replacement options
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Basic knowledge of sheet metal practices
• Understanding of air-balancing principles
• Professional, dependable, and self-motivated work habits

Experience working with equipment from manufacturers such as American Standard, Trane, Rheem, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Viessmann, Burnham, Honeywell, York, Ruud, Goodman, Carrier, Bryant, Amana, Lennox, and similar brands is helpful.

Pay & Earning Potential

• $35.00 - $45.00 per hour, based on experience and technical ability

Schedule

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Technicians participate in an on-call rotation as needed. CARJON works to keep the rotation fair and manageable.
