Job summary

County Waste Complex LLC in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a Helper to ride along with a Driver on a designated residential route. You will assist with safely loading refuse, handling bags and containers, and helping to keep the truck and surroundings clean.

You will direct the Driver from the ground, interact with customers professionally, and follow all safety procedures to ensure timely, courteous service while protecting coworkers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver on designated residential routes.
• Load refuse and carry bags/containers to the truck for disposal.
• Operate packing mechanism and loading controls.
• Assist Driver by directing the vehicle from the ground.
• Keep the packer blade, hopper and truck clean after disposal trips.
• Interact with customers and colleagues to ensure timely, courteous service.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and maintain safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness around the truck and work area.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.
