Job summary

Meridian Waste in Anniston, AL is seeking a Driver Helper to assist the on-board Driver on designated residential routes. The role includes loading waste, guiding the Driver from the ground, and keeping the vehicle clean and maintained for safe service delivery.

The position requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience; experience in the solid waste industry is preferred. Outdoor work and heavy lifting are expected on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
• Operate packing mechanism and levers to load waste.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
