Job summary

Sunday Building Co. is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Remodeling Estimator & Project Consultant in Charlotte, NC. The role blends technical estimating with homeowner communication, guiding projects from scope to signed contract.

You’ll meet homeowners, evaluate renovation opportunities, and develop detailed scopes and estimates, coordinating with subcontractors and the design team to protect margins and ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Four or more years as a residential estimator, project manager, superintendent, production lead, or similar role.
• Five or more years in residential remodeling/renovation is strongly preferred.
• Experience estimating high-end kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations.
• Practical knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, labor, sequencing, and trade coordination.
• Ability to read architectural/structural plans.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective homeowners to understand goals, priorities, investment, and expectations.
• Evaluate kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations.
• Perform site visits, field measurements, quantity takeoffs, and condition assessments.
• Read drawings, engineering plans, and design documents.
• Develop detailed project scopes covering labor, materials, subcontractors, allowances, and risks.
• Prepare accurate budgets, estimates, and construction proposals.
• Create bid packages and obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review subcontractor proposals for completeness and scope alignment.
• Partner with design team to align plans with homeowner budget.
• Explain project scope and pricing clearly to homeowners.
• Support proposal presentations and help homeowners move toward signed agreements.
• Ensure projects are properly priced with healthy margins.
• Maintain estimating data within Buildertrend or similar platform.
• Coordinate handoff of sold projects to production team.
• Develop relationships with homeowners, architects, designers, and subcontractors.
