Job summary

Patrick A. Finn Ltd. is looking for a skilled Carpenter for residential remodeling projects in the Northwest Chicago area. You will perform rough and finish carpentry, read blueprints, install cabinetry and trim, doors, windows, drywall, and finish materials, and mentor teammates.

We value craftsmanship, problem-solving, teamwork, and safety. This is a full-time, onsite role with competitive pay and benefits; commute to Palatine, IL is expected.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of residential remodeling or carpentry experience.
• Strong rough and finish carpentry skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Knowledge of residential building practices and codes.
• Experience installing cabinetry, trim, doors, windows, drywall, framing, finish materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry on residential remodeling projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Install framing, cabinetry, trim, doors, windows, drywall, siding, insulation, flooring, and finish materials.
• Identify construction challenges and communicate practical solutions before they impact progress.
• Work with project managers, designers, trade partners, and carpenters to stay on schedule.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized job sites and protect homeowners' property.
• Support and mentor less experienced carpenters; contribute to a team culture.
