Job summary

GAAMHA's Pathway House seeks a Recovery Specialist to support men in a structured, trauma-informed residential setting. You will guide residents, oversee medications, and document progress to ensure a safe, empowering recovery journey.

You will lead group discussions, conduct wellness checks, and accompany residents to appointments, advocating for their needs within the community. A driver’s license and CORI clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential treatment, peer recovery coaching, or behavioral health settings is highly valued.
• Strong communication and compassion in guiding residents.
• If you have lived experience with substance use disorder, you must have at least one year of continuous sobriety.
• Tech-savvy and detail-oriented; proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based documentation platforms such as Kipu.
• Valid Driver’s License to transport residents as needed.
• Background clearance: must pass a CORI check.

Responsibilities

• Support Program & Activities: Ensure residents follow scheduled routines and actively participate in recovery-based programming.
• Medication Oversight: Oversee medication adherence; maintain accurate medication administration documentation; proper intake and disposal of discontinued meds.
• Facilitate Groups: Lead recovery-focused group discussions and document participation and progress.
• Conduct Wellness & Safety Checks: Perform regular headcounts and wellness checks to maintain a secure environment.
• Document & Communicate Key Information: Complete shift notes, medication logs, and incident reports; share during staff changes.
• Provide Transportation & Advocacy: Accompany residents to appointments and advocate for their needs within the community.
• Foster a Safe & Inclusive Environment: Support trauma-informed, gender-responsive setting where residents feel heard and valued.
• Promote GAAMHA’s Mission in the Community: Represent Pathway House and GAAMHA with professionalism.
