Community Solutions in Bloomfield, CT seeks a dedicated security/social services staff member for second shift at the Drapelick Center. The role focuses on supervising clients, performing checks, and ensuring the safety and orderly operation of the facility.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and 4 years' experience in social services or criminal justice, with a mandatory FBOP background check and 40 hours of training.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma plus 4 years in social service or criminal justice.
  • Due to contractual requirements, only male applicants considered for this role.
  • Pass a Federal Bureau of Prisons background check.
  • Attend 40hrs FBOP required training prior to working FBOP clients.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work 15 minutes before scheduled shift (e.g., 4pm–12am shift report by 3:45pm).
  • Conduct urinalysis.
  • Provide updates on any client issues and incidents.
  • Verify all physical items being passed between shifts.
  • Ensure security of facility keys.
  • Conduct employment, job search and home confinement spot checks on each shift.
  • Conduct common area, room searches and perimeter searches as assigned and document results.
  • Conduct pat/pocket searches on all clients entering the facility and document results.
  • Confiscate contraband found and complete incident report.
  • Complete hourly house counts, then every 2 hours during day, with documentation.
  • Transport clients as needed in a company vehicle.
  • Conduct monthly emergency drills.
  • Secure urines from same sex clients and complete required paperwork and documentation.
  • Supervise all client visitation and sign in/out visitors and contractors.
  • Complete intake on new arrivals prior to end of shift and facilitate orientation.
  • Facilitate client movement in/out of the facility.
  • Monitor client self-administration of medication.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all client visitation. Sign all visitors and contractors in and out of the facility.
  • Complete intake on all new arrivals prior to the end of your shift. Facilitate client orientation as assigned.
  • Facilitate all client movement in and out of the facility.
  • Monitor client’s self‑administration of medication.
Schedule

Tuesday‑Saturday 4:00pm to 12:00am

Hourly Rate

$20.25 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma plus 4 years’ experience in the social service or criminal justice field. Education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one‑year for one‑year basis.
