Job summary

The Mayo Clinic John E Herman Home and Treatment Center offers a residential program for adults with serious persistent mental illness. The Psychiatric Technician supports therapy, medication management, and milieu-based activities within a hospital-based psychosocial team.

As part of the care team, you will promote safety, participate in treatment programs, and lead social activities while assisting residents in achieving recovery goals in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 21+ years of age.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting or behavioral health environment preferred.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to multitask in stressful situations and work with diverse populations.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with group and individual therapy activities and milieu-based programming.
• Support medication management under supervision as part of the care team.
• Engage in safety observation and escalation of concerning behaviors.
• Lead social activities, games, and crafts aligned with individualized care plans.
