Job summary

Madison County in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Residential Evaluator to assess properties across the county. You will use the CAMA system to prepare and present written appraisals, and you will conduct on-site inspections to measure and document property characteristics.

The role requires a high school diploma and an official designation as Certified Illinois Assessing Official, with two years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and Certified Illinois Assessing Official designation.
• Two years related experience preferred.
• Madison County residency requirements must be met within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes CAMA to prepare and present written appraisals of properties within the County for Board of Review and Chief County Assessment.
• Enters data into CAMA and reviews to assure accuracy.
• Uses maps to identify target properties and conducts on-site inspections, measures square footage and other characteristics.
• Researches data concerning target properties and nearby comparisons to determine degree of fairness.
• Produces written reports with assessed values and maintains property files.
• Responds to inquiries from taxpayers and directs them to appropriate sources.
• Performs other duties within scope as needed.
